the Peppermint Patties: One Night Band
This past Saturday, Joe participated in an event called One Night Band that was organized by the lovely folks at Boston Band Crush. 40 different Boston musicians met at 10am at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA and then were randomly assigned to 8 different bands. The bands then had about 6 hours to write three new songs and learn one cover and then perform them together that night at the Middle East.
Some of the results were awesome. Some of them were not so great, but all in all, it was pretty fun to watch. Joe’s band was one of the more awesome ones, though maybe I’m not the most impartial judge on this one. They also managed to get their 3-songs recorded during the afternoon, and those recordings are now available for free downloadin’ over here at the Boston Band Crush website.
